The rooster at Gecko Hardware is gaining fame even outside our neighborhood after a feature on NBC5 and in the Fort Worth Star Telegram.
The Buff Orpington rooster, a.k.a. Prince George, was returned to Gecko, which sells baby chickens, when he was discovered to be not a she but a he (within city limits, hens are legal but not roosters).
Since then, George has grown into a friendly communal pet and the store mascot. He even received exemption from a city ordinance that would prohibit the bird from roaming the store.
