Lake Highlands High grad Isaac Grieder has broken a school record at the University of Louisiana at Monroe, winning first place in the heptathlon at the Sun Belt Conference Indoor Championships Tuesday. His performance also earned him a spot on the 2014 All-SBC First Team in track and field.

Isaac, who won state in wrestling and was regional pole vaulting champ while a Wildcat, won the seven-event heptathlon with a school-record score of 5310, more than 200 points higher than his nearest competitor. Isaac is the son of legendary LHHS wrestling coach Pete Grieder and his wife, Pam.

Isaac ran the 60m in 7.05, ran the 60m hurdles in 8.57, won the shot put with a 13.26 toss, and set personal records in the long jump (6.65) and the high jump (1.88).

The ULM Warhawks took 7th in the meet.
