After being closed for the past month or so “for winterizing,” The Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden at the Dallas Arboretum is scheduled to reopen this Saturday to coincide with the kickoff of the 30th annual Dallas Blooms festival, which runs Feb. 22-April 6.
Dallas Blooms annually showcases over 500,000 blooming tulips, daffodils, pansies, violas, poppies and thousands of other annuals and perennials. This year’s theme is “Birds in Paradise.” In honor of the theme, the Arboretum has partnered with Trinity River Audobon to present the festival’s first ever Bird House Exhibit, featuring life-sized, interactive bird houses built by local architects. Additionally, there’s a special perk for early bird visitors: From Feb. 22-28 general garden admission, not including Children’s Garden admission or parking, is $5 a person.
