The live nativity scene at Ascension Episcopal church: submitted

December 21 and 22 at Episcopal Church of the Ascension visit the incredible live nativity, free and featuring an additional three free gifts to the community — petting zoo, live music and hot chocolate. It’s from 5-8 p.m. at the church’s campus, 8787 Greenville (near Forest).

All week: The Trains at NorthPark rolling now through New Year’s Day. Elaborate toy trains traverse 1,600 feet of track through replica cityscapes. The exhibit, benefitting Ronald McDonald House, is open daily with limited hours on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve. All month: “Christmas lights, Chocolate sips” tours presented by Dallas by Chocolate through Dec. 31. “Discover Dallas’ premier local chocolatiers, bakeries, cheese-makers and other artisanal specialty shops with Dallas by Chocolate and Dallas Bites! Food tours. Climb aboard our private bus to visit 4-5 different venues in about 3.25 hours (or longer, depending on the tour),” the website says.
