MOST ALARMING

Tuesday 11.19

Just after noon, a homeowner on Burnery near Richland College reported a burglary. The suspect reportedly pried and entered through a bathroom window. He or she nabbed $5,000 worth of guns, including an Abercrombie & Fitch shotgun, a coin collection, golf-club set, two televisions, $1,700 worth of jewelry including a $1,200 ring and a $650 “Sidekicks championship” ring (does a former Sidekicks player or coach live here? Wondering the same thing.) All told, the homeowners were robbed of some $11,000 worth of possessions. The owners, according to the report, had serial numbers on some of the items, which could help detectives to track them down. One of the homeowners is a Lake Highlands High School grad who has appeared in the Advocate. We will try to get in touch and will report back when and if there is more info regarding the break in.
