Lake Highlands United Methodist Church offers a safe and fun alternative to door-to-door Halloweening with their annual Trunk or Treat event. They have activities for the entire family, and all of Lake Highlands is invited.
With trunk-or-treating, children dress in costume (too-scary get-ups are discouraged) and go car-to-car in the church parking lot, where families and Sunday school classes are passing out candy from decorated vehicles. There’s also pumpkin decorating, game booths, bounce houses and other fun activities. For dinner, you can purchase $2 hot dogs, potato chips and drinks.
Proceeds from the evening benefit Feed Lake Highlands, a ministry to serve the more than 63% of LH-area students receiving free and reduced-cost lunch. Hungry kids miss school, can’t learn, get sick and feel insecure. You can learn more about Feed Lake Highlands here.
Trunk or Treat will be held Sunday, October 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. at LHUMC, 9015 Plano Road at McCree.
