Cake balls, then cheesecake, then cheesy quesadillas and now long shiny needles in your skin, in a totally good way, not in a torture way like it might initially sound. Only, perhaps, ice cream could make this Lake Highlands retail strip any cooler.

A new, locally owned acupuncture and wellness clinic has opened in the shopping strip just southeast of Ferndale-Northwest Highway — right next to the recently opened Quesa-D-Ya’s and a few doors down from the world-famous Cake Ball Company and it’s suite mate Cheesecake Love.

Heather Harper Ellett who, with her hubby, owns Lake Highlands Acupuncture just announced a grand opening open house featuring music, refreshments, wine and a couple of health-related short lectures Tuesday Oct. 1 from 6-8 p.m. Map. 

Oh, and the salon to the left is inexpensive and high quality. They always are good for a quick trim or simple color touch up, in my experience. And they might be the only hair business that still conducts ‘perm’ and ‘frost’ (see sign in photo).
