Neighborhood group collects school supplies for underprivileged students.
The children are our future. At least that’s what the late, often great, Whitney Houston said, and it sounds right to me.
As most of us are aware, not every child in Lake Highlands is afforded the basic necessities that provide a foundation for early academic success.
With that in mind, members of a neighborhood group called Let’s Back Northlake are rallying support for students at Northlake Elementary in Lake Highlands who are lacking some of the items they need in order to start the school year off right.
Say LBN representatives, via an email:
“We recently spoke to the administrators of Northlake Elementary about their biggest needs. They said they frequently have kids show up to the start of school with little or no school supplies. So if you’re interested in helping restock their School Supply Closet, you can help.”
