Yesterday our movie critic Gary Dowell reviewed “Much Ado About Nothing” and one of our astute commenters noted that female lead Amy Acker is a Lake Highlands High School grad.
Indeed, Acker, whose biggest claim to fame before now has been her role as Fred on Angel, graduated from our neighborhood high school in 1995.
She joins a growing list of LHHS informal Hall of Famers including actress Morgan Fairchild; Chris Harrison, host of ABC’s “The Bachelor” and “The Bachelorette”; Michael Carnes, writer of Hollywood movie “Mr. Woodcock” starring Susan Sarandon and Billy Bob Thornton; NASA astronaut James Reilly; Olympic medalist Darvis Patton; pro-golfer Justin Leonard; actor Mark Salling from “Glee”; Kim Wozencraft author of the book-turned-movie “Rush”; actor Scoot McNailry who was in best picture “Argo” … the impressive list really goes on for quite a while.
Side note: Hottie Jensen Ackles, the star of the cult-y show “Supernatural”, went to nearby Richardson ISD high school Lloyd V. Berkner, with whom the Lake Highlands Wildcats share a stadium.
We could probably go on forever with the name dropping. Our neighborhood is that bada**.
Please add to the list in the comments if you have some hot tips and/or connects.
