You’ve read about Brandon Landis here on the blog and in the magazine several times. He’s the inspiring Lake Highlands Freshman Center student who refuses to let Dystonia, a neurological movement disorder which threatens his muscle control and causes him pain, separate him from the activities he enjoys.
Advocate Publisher Christina Hughes Babb shared the stories of his exciting LHJH touchdown and the LHFC girls who organized a t-shirt fundraiser to help with expenses of his recent surgery.
Now, you’re invited to help.
Friends are organizing the Wings on Eagles Gala and Auction, with money raised going directly to the Landis family. The event will be held Saturday, May 4 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 10110 Shoreview. Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased online here.
Silent and live auction items will include a progressive dinner with chef Kent Rathbun to several of his restaurants, Texas Rangers tickets, a white-tail deer hunt, a handmade iron bed by LH artist Steve Mabry, two kayaks for one hour on White Rock Lake, a new shotgun (value $600), Dallas Cowboy tickets with parking pass, restaurant gift certificates and much more.
If you can’t make it May 4 but you’d like to donate, you may do that online here.
Diseases like Brandon’s are expensive, but his parents say they’ve been overwhelmed by the kindness of the LH community.
If you have questions about the Wings on Eagles event or you’d like to donate an item to the auction, contact Kent and Becky Williamson at bl.fund@yahoo.com.
