Healing Hands Ministries is hosting their 3rd annual Tablescapes Luncheon Friday, May 3rd, and this one is bound to be a doozy. Volunteers on the planning committee have booked Julie Gordon, author of the new book Wife School, to be the guest speaker, and her amusing hit about “learning the secrets of making husbands happy” is sure to get Lake Highlands women talking.
This year’s Tablescapes, with 40 tables beautifully decorated by local designers, businesses, community leaders and LH residents who enjoy entertaining, is likely to be a sellout. Over the past two years, the event has become a family tradition, with women bringing their moms, daughters, grandmothers and friends to celebrate the women in their life who most inspire and encourage them. That seems appropriate, since more than 2/3 of Healing Hands’ 3,100 patients are women.
The Tablescapes event, sponsored by Comerica Bank, Jones Day and Mary Kay, will be held at Wilshire Baptist Church, 4316 Abrams Road. Table viewing begins at 10 a.m., and Julie Gordon will speak at 11:30. Lunch will be served at 12:30. Tickets are $40 each, or $320 for a table of 8, and may be purchased online here or by contacting Susan Solomon at sweybridge@gmail.com or 214-343-6889. All proceeds benefit Healing Hands.
Healing Hands Ministries is a non-profit clinic serving children and families in Lake Highlands. They provide medical and dental care with the help of doctors and nurses who volunteer their time and compassion, and their new facility at Royal and Greenville opens next week.
