White Rock will be extra crowded this Saturday with the Dallas Running Club Tal Morrison 15k, at Winfrey Point at 8 a.m. and the Tour Dallas Bike Ride (scroll down for more on that). You can still register for the 15k race morning at 7 a.m. $10 for non members and free for members.

There’s the Tour Dallas Bike Ride on Saturday, starting bright and early in the morning. It’s not a race, so no need to stress over who is in the lead. Just grab some friends and get to peddling. You can cycle routes of 8, 20 or 30 miles around Dallas to benefit the Promise House. Registration at 6:30 a.m. and the tour begins at 8 a.m. Meet at Dallas City Hall at 1500 Marilla. It’s $40 at the event, $20 for children 12 and younger. Here is a list of routes, so those who aren’t participating can anticipate where to expect extra crowded trails or street closings.

Mom of five, Lake Highlands Women’s League member Lora Welty will perform Saturday night  at School of Rock, located at 5606 Dyer Street, just east of Central. Doors open at 8 p.m., then Southlake School of Rock band will perform, then Lora’s group begins at 9:30. In addition to singing the lead on ten of 11 songs, she’ll play bass guitar and keyboards, and the set list includes music from Queen, Heart, The Who, The Black Crowes and Foo Fighters.

JohnGielgud 240x166 This weekend: Wine trail, bike tour and Jason CastroFriday and Saturday, starting at 8 p.m. Shakespeare Dallas is hosting, “Ages of Shakespeare: After Gielgud,” at the Bath House Cultural Center. They will explore the how, through the different periods of time,actors have performed and interpreted Shakespeare. It’s free to Shakespeare Dallas members and only $5 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased at the door.

Not in LH, but close enough if you’re into the whole food truck fad—Saturday, Stonewall Jackson Elementary is hosting the Food Truck Field Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. For $5 you can “roll up and chow down” at 5828 E. Mockingbird.
