Dallas’ first off-leash dog park is going to get a long overdue makeover. At last Thursday’s City Hall meeting, the City of Dallas decided to proceed with the $1.2 million renovation of the White Rock Lake Off-Leash Dog Park.

The first phase of the project is to obtain bids for the construction, which will then need to be approved by the Planning and Design Committee of the Dallas Park and Recreation Board as early as April. Park Planning Manager for the City of Dallas, Michael Hellmann, says that “construction will likely begin this summer once a bid is accepted.”
