velveteenBookmarks in NorthPark will feature a special engagement 2 p.m. Jan. 12 where children can meet animal favorites like the Velveteen Rabbit himself, and make crafts inspired by the tale. One family will receive a four pack of tickets to see “The Velveteen Rabbit” by the Enchantment Theatre Company.

“Painting God’s House: The Folk Baroque Churches of Mexico” displays the works of photographer Carolyn Brown, who spent more than 10 years traveling through Mexico for a previous exhibit. Brown focuses on the “multi-hued, tiled and painted church fronts” in central Mexico. The exhibit runs through Jan. 26.
