Just slightly outside Lake Highlands proper, but totally shoppable, Ditto Boutique on 6465 E. Mockingbird celebrates its anniversary tonight, Dec. 6 from 5-8 p.m.with “finger food, bubbly drinks, a fabulous DJ,” Santa Clause and store discounts.
Saturday, Dec. 8, meet at For the Love of the Lake’s office at 1152 Buckner before heading to White Rock Lake for the shoreline spruce-up at 8 a.m.
Saturday’s White Rock Local Market is special for the holidays. From 9 a.m.-3 p.m. find local food, crafts, furniture from more than 50 vendors. The Northaven Gardens will give a planting demonstration and the Lab in Lakewood is cooking up Nickelodeon-esque goo with kids. There will be live music and a whole lot more at 702 N. Buckner.
It’s here! The MetroPCS Dallas Marathon takes place Sunday, Dec. 9 amidst excitement and frustration alike. The X Factor’s Panda Ross will sing the national anthem. The route heads north of the lake and loops around the south side before heading back to the finish line. Keep an eye out for funnyman Craig Miller, who will start last and finish as close to first as he can. Keep traffic in mind if you’re driving, and join in cheering at the sidelines if you have time.
