It may be a bit dreary outside this morning, but that won’t stop tomorrow’s rain-or-shine, annual Tour des Fleurs. The 10K/20K snakes around White Rock Lake and through Lakewood and benefits the Arboretum.

Gates open at 6 a.m. and the race kicks off at 7:30 a.m. on Sat. Sept. 15. Afterward, you can catch live music at the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage—where the race begins—and what the Arboretum touts as the “best post-race party of the season,” which includes food and massage therapists.

Free parking and shuttles are available at the White Rock YMCA, Lakeside Baptist Church and Winfrey Point (but no shuttle from Winfrey Point). Arboretum members can park in the Arboretum parking lot, but don’t forget to bring your membership card!

Update: In case you’re wondering, the Arboretum has confirmed that runners will only be allowed to park on designated paved spots, not on the Winfrey Point grass. They also say that parking lots will be closed when they are filled and re-opened after the race begins.

For more information on the race, call the Arboretum’s customer service line at 214.515.6615.

Update: Terry Lendecker-Nimmo, VP of advertising and promotions, has just informed us of street closures, which she says are subject to change: “Lawther will be closed approx. at 6am as part of the permitting process, until race is over. Emerald Isle closed into Winfrey until race begins at 7:30am. This closure is at entry of Winfrey beyond Autumn Leaves. This will not affect residents. DPD will be at Emerald Isle and Garland advising motorists of closure and direct accordingly if a runner.”
