Did you know that these “We buy houses” and “Cash for cars” signs scattered about the neighborhood are illegal.
It is a violation of city code to post signs, notices, posters and “other paper devices” on utility poles, lamp posts, trees or any public structure.
The Vickery Meadow Improvement District, which has done much work on behalf of the neighborhood inside just north of Northwest Highway and east of Greenville, among other efforts has volunteers out regularly removing the signage.
Via email, they ask residents of the neighborhood and surrounding areas to help out. “Help keep the neighborhood clean and remove any illegal signage.”
VMID volunteers also are known to round up abandoned shopping carts in the effort to keep VM clean.
