Saturday is Cinco de Mayo. Prepare your body for the extreme celebratory consumption of chips and margaritas with a five or even a ten-mile run. There’s also a 1-miler for the kiddos and slow pokes at the White Rock ‘n’ Roll races.

If you miss online registration, which commences Tuesday at 3:30 p.m., you can still register race morning between 6:30 and 7:30 a.m. at Winfrey Point. Find the rest of the registration and schedule info here.

No need for iPods, runners, because bands including Kumassi, The Krooks and Jagged Edge will perform along the course and at the finish party.

Now, despite the fact that the city will allow Arboretum patrons to park on the grass at Winfrey Point, race participants will not be allowed to park on the grass or in the parking lots of nearby establishments.

From the Dallas Running Club:

DO NOT park on the grass (you will be ticketed/towed), around the baseball diamond, or in any retail establishment along Garland Road that is open on Saturday morning (particularly Casa Linda Shopping Center and Barbec’s, etc.). We’re expecting 1000-1200 participants, so we recommend you arrive early, as parking WILL be an issue.
