Dallas police believe an 11-year-old boy, Jonathan Ramsey, was starved to death and dumped in an Ellis County field by his father and stepmother, who reportedly live in the Lake Highlands area on Clearwater Drive, which is north of Royal Lane and west of Greenville Ave.

For several months, according to reports by the Morning News and WFAA, the boy’s grandfather had been trying to get in touch with him, but the father, Aaron Ramsey, made excuses about young Jonathan’s whereabouts.

If what Aaron Ramsey reportedly told police is true, Jonathan died of starvation about a year ago—Ramsey reportedly told police he placed Jonathan’s body in a sleeping bag, drove it to a rural area near Ennis and dumped it. Prior to that, the child was locked in a room at the Clearwater house where he was fed so little that he withered away. Police papers indicate that Aaron locked his son in the room after the boy struck his pregnant stepmother in the stomach.

As of this past weekend, both Aaron and said stepmother are in jail for the injury to a child. Once police locate the remains, chances are they will add more charges, a police spokeswoman says.

Based on the Ramsey’s address, Jonathan would have attended Stults Road elementary, but his guardians had withdrawn him from school and told officials he was attending another school, thus no one reported him missing.
