Doug Keffer, a junior at Lake Highlands High School, has been nominated for Best Actor in a Dallas-area high school musical. The nominees of the new Dallas Summer Musicals High School Theatre Awards were chosen by DSM’s Michael Jenkins and his committee of experts, but today’s Dallas Morning News is giving readers a chance to weigh in on who we think deserves to win. You can vote for Doug here (if you are a DMN subscriber).

Doug was recognized for his role as William Barfee in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. He’s also had leading roles at LHHS as Mayor Shinn in The Music Man and Bamatabois in Les Miserables, and he played the title character in The Mikado for the Garland Civic Theatre. He served as Student Director for the LHHS production of The Children’s Hour.
