Doctor’s Hospital at White Rock Lake recently celebrated the birthday of its oldest volunteer, J.C. Reneau, who turned 90. Reneau started volunteering at the hospital 11 years ago and has put in more than 3,300 hours of service. He works as a patient ambassador, among other roles.
Reneau is famous around the hospital for his buttermilk pecan pralines.
He also is a crime watch volunteer in his Lake Highlands North neighborhood, often manning the midnight-3 a.m. shift patrolling the community.
