Demolition hasn’t begun on the vacant retail strip or the former Walmart at Walnut Hill-Audelia in Lake Highlands Plaza, but here’s the design of how the lots will be laid out once those buildings come down. (The full-screen view will give you a better look.)

In an email, Lake Highlands resident Mark Dann of Highlands Classic Homes tells neighbors that the buildings are expected to be torn down by the end of October, and “lot development will follow that. Should be ready for new home construction to begin in early 2012.”

Dann’s Highland Classic Homes is building six of the 17 homes (the ones highlighted on the map in yellow), and he has told us previously that the others will be constructed by two or three additional builders, inlcuding Nobility Homes, New Leaf Construction and possibly another. On the map, most lots are around 9,000 square feet, with a few larger lots closer to Walnut Hill (it isn’t shown, but runs across the top of the page). Dann has also said the expected average home price will be near $700,000.
