We stumbled across David Namaksy’s photos on Flickr, and loved his take on some of our neighborhood’s landmarks. When we emailed to ask about them, the Lake Highlands resident told us he recently went back to school to pursue a career as a photographer, and almost always carries a camera with him these days.
“One of the things I have learned about in school is, while there are great things and places to take photos of, there are also many opportunities in our own backyard to create interesting photos,” Namaksy says. “I am always looking for those, and sometimes I get lucky. All those photos were sort of accidental photos. I was out with the family and was just looking around and noticed something, and I thought that could be a nice photo, and sometimes they were.”
