Members of the Lake Ridge Estates North Neighborhood Association held a flag ceremony Tuesday at Lake Highlands elementary. Each flag represents a member of the community serving in the military.
Barry McGuire, 3, attended the flag ceremony at the Lake Highlands Elementary field.
The flag ceremony to honor military troops comprised about 70 10-foot-tall American flags, each marked with a name and a branch of the military.
Several Lake Highlands families attended the social, an annual event started several years ago as a fall alternative to National Night Out.
Boy Scout Troop 707 led by Pete Puckett arranged the flags and attendees brought donations for the Lake Highlands Military Moms to send to Lake Highlands troops serving overseas.
