Another Lake Highlands Fourth of July Parade is in the history books, and the 2011 version was as rip-roarin’ as any I’ve ever seen. Newly elected Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings headed up festivities as Grand Marshall in Tom Lainson’s 1961 Corvette, and the LH Military Moms beamed with pride as they displayed photos of their sons on active duty.

Unimpressed with vintage cars were LH’s toddlers and school-aged children, preferring to ride bicycles or be pulled on Radio-Flyer wagons dolled-up with red-white-and-blue streamers of every sort. And, somehow looking poised and beautiful despite the warm temperatures, the Wildcat cheerleaders, Highlandettes and Wranglers had big smiles for the big crowds. Check out my photo slideshow above, including pics taken by LH’s Doug Williams and Exchange Club’s Don Lee. Thanks, guys!
