USA Today recently reported that Whole Foods Market, the beloved, upscale grocer of natural foods, has been testing craft beer and wine bars at a handful of its stores nationwide. The Park Lane store in Dallas was the first in North Texas to offer a bar/lounge as a part of this experiment.
Since its opening in March 2010, the Park Lane bar has drawn quite a following due to its unorthodox “drink-while-you-shop” concept and its unique selection. The beer menu is constantly changing, always keeping hard-to-find craft beers on tap.
The wine menu changes monthly. The new menu (released yesterday) features many wines by-the-glass for only $4.50, including Paso a Paso Tempranillo, Los Vascos Sauvignon Blanc and Presto Prosecco.
Here’s the best part: You can purchase any bottle of wine in the store, and they will open it for you to enjoy right there. When you’re done, they’ll cork it for you to take home. The same idea applies to any cheese, bottle of beer or antipasto … buy it and enjoy it there.
The bar is open from 11 a.m.–10 p.m., Monday–Saturday and 12–10 p.m. on Sunday.
