Congratulations to the Wildcat tennis team, which excelled at last week’s district tournament at the Fair Oaks Tennis Center in Lake Highlands. You can see Judy Ziehm’s great photos from the day here.

Alex Ziehm & Nicole Rains earned first place in Girls Doubles and Ana Yanez & Danielle Rains took second. In Mixed Doubles, Maggie Duffy & Ryan Berg were first and Hana Ovcina & Jonathan Oliva were second, while John Paul Turnham took 2nd place in Boys Singles.

These performances resulted in the Lady Wildcats being named UIL District Champions and the Varsity Boys being named Runners Up.

JV tournament results: Katie Ritenour 3rd in Girls Singles, Dani Austin 4th in Girls Singles, Ford Flusche/Hunter Stephan 1st in Boys Doubles, Alex and Ben Truong 2nd in Boys Doubles, Delaney Cotten/Paul Holden 1st in Mixed Doubles, Taylor Siskind/Elias Dorna 2nd in Mixed Doubles, Alexa Clift/Rachel Lee 2nd in Girls Doubles, Alison Brown/Suzie Ghedei 3rd in Girls Doubles.

Next up, the 9 Varsity placers will advance to the regional competition in Waco April 19 and 20. Go Cats!
