March 20 will be the last day to register online for the Rock ‘n’ Roll Dallas Half Marathon to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure. The Rock ‘n’ Roll-brand racing events are pricey ($100 online or $125 at the pre-race expo if it doesn’t sell out first), but before you balk, know this: it was recently announced that the headlining rock ‘n’ roll act is none other than Bret Michaels — of Poison/”Rock of Love” fame — and his world-famous bandana. So, yeah, there’s that, plus the race is run on a pretty course through the East Dallas and White Rock areas; there will be a large field including some world-class runners; and a portion of the profits benefit breast cancer research and the search for a cure.
And if none of the above interests you, you will probably want to know that some roads will be closed race day, March 27. Here’s the course map. Don’t say you weren’t warned.
