The Wildcats defeated Skyline 5-3 last night in a much-needed victory after a couple of weeks of cold temps and colder losses, proving there are more wins ahead if they can ever get all players healed from illness and injury.
Luis Rios got the goal-scoring started with an assist from Carter Bredehoeft, followed shortly by Emmet Kumeh, who chipped the goalkeeper with a ball played to him by Reagan Dunk. Joel Mendoza’s goal left the score 3-1 at halftime.
Skyline regained their footing in the second half and the score was 3-2 when Emmet made the breakaway in this video, and Reagan’s pass to Joel clinched the game and made the final score 5-3.
The Cats have another home game this Friday at 7 pm against Richardson High, coached by former LHHS assistant Ryan Logan. Go Cats!
