The ‘Cats Wrestling team is now preparing for the District 18  meet this Saturday Feb. 5 at Lake Highland’s High School.  top two teams are expected to be Lake Highlands and Berkner.  The Wildcats have lost two captains, but other wrestlers have a great chance to win district.  Junior Nathan Schulman and Freshman Thayer Atkins have had great seasons so far and look to make a deep run into the post season.

“This year the district meet will be more balanced than ever,” Pete Grieder, Lake Highlands head coach said.  “Each team has some quality wrestlers that will advance to Regionals.  I can only hope that Lake Highlands stays injury free and healthy the next five days heading in.  If we can do that, then good things will happen and maybe we can repeat as District Champions.”

The Wildcats will defend their District Title this Saturday at 9 a.m. at LHHS.
