Hunger. Domestic violence. Economics. Health care. These are the important — and somewhat hot-button — topics that Lake Highlands Presbyterian Church is tackling in a new film, lecture and sermon series that begins next week: “The Christian Work of Justice”.
In this week’s podcast, we sat down with the church’s pastor, Rev. Anne Cameron (who is also Dr. Anne Cameron, with a background in clinical psychology), to discuss how the series came about, and why the topics are relevant to our neighborhood. They show up at LHHS, Cameron mentions, or at the laundromat down the street, and in the simple fact that we have two “neighborhoods” coexisting side by side.
Find the full series schedule after the jump, and stay tuned until the end to hear a shameless plug of the first film in the series, “Food, Inc.“, and a completely unrelated plug about the winter blast that no doubt has engulfed us all by the time this podcast airs.
