Wallace Elementary Principal Debbie Evans chats with students at a skating party
Jeremy Gilbert, formerly principal at Wallace Elementary in Lake Highlands, has been chosen Best Principal by a
People’s Choice poll conducted by Park Cities People newspaper. Gilbert currently leads
Hyer Elementary in University Park.
Votes in the poll were collected in October and November on subjects as diverse as shopping, services and restaurants. Oh, and their Best Tex-Mex? Mi Cocina. They have one of those, too.
Replacing Gilbert at Wallace was Debbie Evans, who’s proven herself to be pretty darn wonderful, too. With the school website still under construction, she started a principal’s blog to stay connected to parents and students. You can read her updates and see her photos with children here. Debbie raised her own two daughters here in LH and she’s hired several LHHS grads to teach for her at Wallace. Now we just need to keep her.
