Our own experiences with keeping kids in or pulling them out of school, whether right or wrong or neither, are revealed in this week’s podcast. Carol Toler, who started this conversation last week, references the fifedoms over which coaches preside, and confesses her own fib when her kids were late to LHHS one morning.
Last week, when Toler told a feel-good story about students at Moss Haven Elementary giving up their birthday presents so that formerly homeless families and children living at the Trinity Palms apartment complex could have food and books, we couldn’t help but notice that it was published right after a post about the arrest of a homeless man believed to be the murderer of a restaurant owner found dead in his car at a Skillman-Audelia apartment complex. So should we welcome the homeless, or try to keep them out of our neighborhood? A regular Back Talk commenter has some words of wisdom.
Stay tuned until the end for our shameless plugs. This week, our theme is “all I want for Christmas in Lake Highlands”.
