I have been playing with slime all morning — in the car, at my desk. It’s bright, clammy, jiggly and mushy. It’s what Melissa Wright, owner of The Lab at Lake Highlands, calls a multi-sensory experience. The Lab is sort of like a science classroom, but bigger and more colorful and way more fun. Wright hosts polymer parties where kids make their own slime (“I have a great slime recipe,” Wright says) and putty. The idea here is that, without realizing it, kids learn and want to learn more.

Kids Cold Weather Chemistry Camp is December 27-30. Mini camps featuring themed science fun and learning run each day as follows.
