“It was definitely an honor,” Lauren told me about being selected. “My coach announced the All-Conference teams while we were in Florida at the conference tournament. I was really surprised when I found out, but it was a great surprise.”

Lauren, who is majoring in Psychology with a minor in Education, plans on being an elementary school teacher after graduation. “I learned so much from my experiences playing soccer,” she said. “I am really, really going to miss it.”

Lauren gives credit to her mother, Sandra, for being her biggest role model. “She is so hard working and very strong. She impresses me everyday.”

While playing for the Wildcats, Lauren served as senior captain and was a four-year letterman. She was named district Newcomer of the Year and was All-District two years in a row. She was team captain for her Solar club soccer team six years running.

“I have great memories of all the different places soccer has taken me,” Lauren reminisced. “I have been all over the country and seen so many amazing campuses. I really don’t know who I am without it,” After a pause she added, “I guess I am about to find out!”
