Meron Fessahaie placed No. 7 overall in the Class 5A Regional Cross Country Championships Saturday at Arlington’s Vandergiff Park.
Fessahaie finished with a time of 15:11.35, within the top 10 individual runners which is good enough to move on to the Class 5A State Cross Country Championships on Nov. 13 at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, where he will compete with the best cross country runners in Texas.
The Lake Highlands boys team finished No. 15 overall with a combined average time of 16:59.11. The top three teams overall advance to the State meet.
And Sophomore Sarah Shaw finished No. 66 in the girls individual 2-mile with a time of 12:35.29.
