Lake Highlands will wrap up its regular season and District 9-5A schedule tonight against Richardson at 6:30 p.m. at home.
If the Lady Wildcats beat Richardson, they will finish district play undefeated at 12-0 and be named District 9-5A Champions. Head coach Melissa Crown thinks her team is ready for that opportunity tonight.
“Yeah of course we’re really excited,” Crown said. “We practiced yesterday and it was really sharp. They had a really strong practice and I think they are really prepared for it tonight.”
The Lady Wildcats have already secured a playoff berth, so now it comes down to figuring out who they will play. Crown said if they win, the Lady Wildcats will likely face Naaman Forest in the first round of the playoffs.
“We’ll just have to take it one game at a time,” Crown said. “We’ve already scouted Naaman Forest and watched them play last week. So we’re prepared to play against them.”
