You may have Wildcat football and volleyball on your mind, but three members of the Lake Highlands High School baseball team have been named to an all-star team of sorts – the DFW Metro Scout League (MSL) Team.

David Bloodworth (second base, shortstop), Taylor Stell (outfield) and Blake Woodson (first base, shown here playing for the Wildcats in last year’s playoff game against Belton) have been chosen to play alongside standouts from Rockwall, Allen, Highland Park and other strong area high schools. MSL play gives them a chance to hone their skills and showcase their talent to college coaches and pro scouts who travel to DFW from around the country.

This weekend, their team will travel to Peoria, Arizona for the Arizona Senior Fall Classic, where they’ll play two games Saturday and two games Sunday at the spring training facility of the Seattle Mariners and the San Diego Padres. Here’s hoping their chance to play in facilities used by real major leaguers will boost their game and bring post-season success to the Wildcats this spring.
