This week’s Lake Highlands High football profile is Tre Stewart, a senior defensive tackle and captain. We asked him 10 questions about a few non-football aspects of life. Also, check out Ben’s video below of Tre in action, and read the game preview here before tonight’s live chat during the rival Berkner vs. LHHS showdown.
1. What is your favorite college?
I recently went to a Texas-OU game. I don’t have a main college that I am die-hard for but I am a Texas fan. It was a little disappointing to see them lose twice in a row. It was tough, but I am a Texas fan.
2. What radio station do you listen to?
I have a bunch of different radio stations in my car. I have 97.9 The Beat. K-104. I got a couple of friends who are really trying to get me to listen to country music. It’s tough; it’s tough to listen but it’s kinda growing on me. So No. 6 on my stations is 96.3 [KSCS], and I’m really trying to get into it. I’m working on it.
3. What’s playing on your i-Pod before a game?
You can’t go wrong with “Explosions in the Sky” from “Friday Night Lights”. That’s definitely my No. 1 movie of all time. And then we have our instrumentals of just random different rap songs that get you going and get your blood pumping and ready to play some football.
4. Pregame meal?
Subway every week. Because you can eat a lot but it’s still not that heavy, so I can still get the foot-long no matter what they tell you.
5. Who’s the best running back you’ve ever seen in person?
I’ve been to a couple of Cowboys games back in the day. So you have to say Emmitt Smith, right? I mean, being from Dallas and everything. Yeah, I mean, Emmitt Smith. He was a great running back with great vision. Of course, you can’t go wrong with D-Ro [Dedmond Roland] but I can’t give him too much credit to be as good as Emmitt yet.
6. What team on your schedule do you fear?
I fear no team. I have major respect for the last four teams on our schedule. You know Berkner is a great team. I don’t know much about Jesuit but they seem to throw the ball around like crazy. Skyline has just amazing athletes. Richardson has been down a bit but I personally know players over there and they have great athletes as well.
7. Favorite pro team?
Cowboys all the way. I grew up a Cowboys fan you know my family is [full of] Cowboys fans, and I’ll always be a Cowboys fan. Even though we’re struggling right now I’m sticking with them. I’m not going to be a fair-weather fan.
8. Ware or Romo?
Definitely Demarcus Ware. I love that guy. He’s a great pass-rusher.
9. Gatorade or Powerade?
Gatorade all the way. Lemo-Lime.
10. Dream car?
Can’t go wrong with my Trailblazer. I love my Trailblazer. But I would love to have a fast car like a Camaro. I went to the fair recently and I saw the 2011 Camaro and it would be real nice to have one of those.
