The Lake Highlands volleyball team faced the only other undefeated team in District 9-5A, Richardson, Tuesday and came out on top.

Not only did the Lady Wildcats win, they did it in emphatic fashion, winning 25-13, 25-17, 24-21, respectively.

“”The team played with alot of poise today,” Melissa Crown, Lake Highlands head coach said. “The committed almost no unforced errors, missed serves and hitting errors, and were no phased when Richardson got a kill.”

Lake Highlands committed a mere eight hitting errors on the night. A very low number.

Hollyn Adams had 18 assists as Matalee Reed led the way with 14 kills and Katie Bott added 17 digs to continue stout defensive play.

“It was a big match,” Crown said. “I felt like it could have been a real battle. It was a relief to see them play so well together.”

Richardson falls to 8-1 while Lake Highlands stays undefeated at 9-0 in district play. The Lady Wildcats face Berkner Friday night at home at 6:30 p.m..
