Lake Highlands leaned heavily on the offensive line Thursday night rolling to a 56-7 win against Samuell High School at Forester Stadium.
“Desmond (Roland) and DeVonte (Sunwenghan) are our cowbells,” Scott Smith, Lake Highlands head coach said. “We’re going to ride them and get them the ball as often as we can. Tonight Desmond helped us get out to an early lead and he really carried us well. The offensive line was able to open up some big holes and gave our quarterback some time to work in the pocket too.”
Roland finished the night with 13 carries for 152 yards and five touchdowns, while the Wildcats defense held Samuell to only 115 yards of total offense and one single touchdown late in the game.
