And this is how it’s done, folks: Truitt Matthews takes aim on a clay target as Tommy Bailey tracks the shot.

The inaugural Exchange Club Lake Highlands Charity Clay Shoot is set for Thursday August 26 at Elm Fork Shooting Sports. Experienced hunters are encouraged to compete, but don’t think that if you don’t own a shotgun you’re out of the game — loaner guns will be available on site. A shooting clinic will start at 1:30 p.m. Four-member teams will begin shooting at 2:30 p.m. followed by a dinner, awards and raffle at 5:30 p.m. Register as an individual or as a team by e-mailing exchangeclub@gmail.com. Sponsorship opportunities are still available, too — get in on that via the same e-mail. The event helps fund scholarships for LHHS students and other Lake Highlands causes.
