Here’s something to get you in the back-to-school spirit. These are actual excuse notes that parents have written to their childrens’ teachers. The notes are shining examples of how misspelling a word (or just using the wrong one) can create a whole new meaning. Nonetheless, they’re good for laughs.
Like this one: “My son is under doctor’s care and should not take P.E. today. Please execute him.” Or: “Please excuse Jimmy for being. It was his father’s fault.” I particularly like this one that doesn’t contain any spelling or grammar errors: “Please excuse Jennifer for missing school yesterday. We forgot to get the Sunday paper off the porch, and when we found it Monday, we thought it was Sunday.”
