At least, that’s what a recent article in the DMN says. According to the story, Lakewood, Lake Highlands, the Park Cities and North Dallas are seeing a resurgence in teardowns. The story mentioned that builder Michael Lorra just “poured a foundation” on a house in Lake Highlands (no location disclosed), but in nearby Forest Hills, the story indicated that a 6,127-square-foot, $1.45 million home by developer Kelly Clark is replacing a “much smaller” home originally on the lot that was built in the 1950s. With mortgages at near-record lows, and with employment seeming to have stabilized (if not exactly having turned around), I guess it would have been foolish to think we had seen the last of this trend.
