The Lake Highlands softball season ended last Friday with a 7-0 loss to Sachse in the bi-district round. While the team is disappointed with the result, the players are hopeful for their prospects next year.

Six seniors will be departing, including Hendrix signee D.J. Sandidge, but the team will be returning plenty of talent. Junior Ashley Hudson will return as a leader of the batting order and pitching ace Erin Brennan will return for her third season.

Because of UIL realignment, co-district champion Creekview will not be in 9-5A next year, leaving LH as the apparent top team in the district. The pitching rubber will be moved back from 40 to 43 feet next season, so it will be interesting to see how that affects the offensive production for everyone next year.
