Four LH tennis players won district championships and 11 players in all qualified for regionals at this week’s District 9-5A tournament.
Junior Ryan Berg and senior Wil Matthews won the boys doubles title, while sophomore Maggie Duff and senior Ana Lew won the girls doubles crown. Freshman Nicole Rains and junior Alex Ziem were second in girls’ doubles.
In mixed doubles, Jonathan Olivo and Hana Ovcina placed second while McGuire Boles and Celeste Allison were third.
Noemi Rosas placed third in girls singles, giving Lake Highlands 11 regional qualifiers out of 16 varsity players. The Region II-5A tennis tournament is April 20-21 at the Waco Regional Tennis Center.
