The Lady Cats defeated the Garland Owls last night at Williams Stadium 3-1 to advance to the second round of playoffs. “As suspected, Garland came out strong and physical, and they put in a goal off a corner kick in the 6th minute,” said Coach Misty Benson after the game. Just before the half ended, junior Norma Perez played a ball to senior Erin Gossett, who put the ball in the net for the first goal. Sophomore Brinkley Field scored quickly in the second half, and freshman Lena Anderson added some cushion with a third goal late in the game.

“Our girls picked it up and fought back,” Benson said in praise of her players. “They continued to battle hard” after being down 1-0. “Our next game is sure to be another battle. Come out and cheer the girls on!” The girls will play at The Boneyard Friday night at 7:30 pm.
