AUSTIN – After Saturday morning’s matches at the UIL state tournament, LH has one wrestler in the state finals and two more with their eyes on third place.
Isaac Grieder will face Marc Backus of Canyon Randall in the 160-pound state championship match. Grieder beat previously undefeated Sawyer Morris of Austin Westlake, 12-7, in the semifinals.
Isaac Kinsella was defeated in a sudden victory (overtime) match, 13-11, by Flower Mound’s Austin Riddle. Kinsella will face Aaron Walker from Converse Judson in this afternoon’s consolation brackets.
Ebrima Njie lost a hard-fought, 5-3 decision to Joby Bishop of Allen and will face David Tanner of Rockwall-Heath this afternoon.
