The LH girls basketball team finished the regular season in strong fashion with a 63-37 win over W.T White, clinching the fourth place playoff spot in the process. LH will play Garland Naaman Forest in the bi-district playoffs next week at a date, place and time to be determined.

Seniors  Samantha Couch, Kosi Ekwu, and D.J Sandidge all started for the Cats as they soaked in their last game in the LH Gym.

The game started off slowly, with the two sides trading baskets.  The score stood at 13-11 at the end of first quarter. But after the LH girls started the second quarter on a 12-2 run, they never looked back.

The Lady Cats held W.T White to seven points in each of the second and third quarters, while out-scoring them 35-14.  It was the juniors who led the Cats in scoring, with Bridget O’Brien tallying 19 points and Hannah Wedding coming up with another 17 points.

The girls will now have the rest of the week to get ready for Naaman Forest. Coach Holly Mulligan said there will be no warm-up game prior to the playoffs.
