After all was said and done Friday night at the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD natatorium, nine LH swimmers qualified for the Region III-5A meet. The top six finishers in each event at district move on to the regional meet, Feb. 12-13 at Mansfield ISD Natatorium.

On the girls’ side, both the 200 medley and the 200 free relays placed second. Seniors Paige Slater and Laura Jean Mueller, sophomore Peyton Slater and freshman Siobhan Kelley swam on both relays. Individually, Slater turned in two gold medal performances in the 100 free and 100 breast. Mueller placed second in the 200 IM and sixth in the 100 back. Slater placed second in both the 50 free and 100 back. Kelley qualified in the 100 breast with fifth place.

On the boys’ side, seniors Bradley Paterik and Curran Kelley, junior Luke Smith and sophomore Tyler Regan placed fourth in the 200 free relay and fifth in the 400 free relay. Kelley, Smith, Regan and senior Brandon Jones took fifth in the 200 medley relay. Smith and Regan both qualified individually with sixth in the 200 free and fifth in the 100 back, respectively.

The regional prelims begin at 9 a.m. Feb. 12 at the Mansfield ISD Natatorium, 1001 N. Holland Road in Mansfield.
